Paintings of Ingleside Terraces

Ingleside Terraces Diebenkorn Ingleside Terraces column DeMaio
"Ingleside" by Richard Diebenkorn, 1963.  Diebenkorn lived in Ingleside Terraces on Cedro Avenue and on Moncada Way in the 1930's. The curves of the streets and the hills indicate that this painting is a foreshortened view of Mercedes Way looking south from Paloma Avenue. The house on the right is 65 Mercedes Way, farther back on the left is the hill at the junctions with Cedro and Cerritos Avenues. Merced Heights is in the background. Stone column at Paloma Avenue and Junipero Serra Boulevard by Ingleside Terraces' resident Thomasina DeMaio, 2013.

The largest and best known painting in this area is undoubtedly the Diego Rivera Panamerican Unity Mural at the City College of San Francisco. See also this large photomontage of the Diego Rivera mural
